I literally haven’t written any posts since April, so here it goes.
Life… has been a whirlwind. I have finally decided to do everything I’ve been saying I wanted to do. This is certainly the year of execution, and it’s definitely not slowing down anytime soon.
So what have I been up to? Let’s see. I took my first spontaneous vacation (nowhere fancy, just Florida), and it was rejuvenating. I’ve been doing hot yoga for the past month, and have learned a lot about my body. Specifically, that I hold my breath when I’m stressed. I’m definitely learning to breathe moment to moment and stay present.
Ya girl been WORKIN. Literally on all types of projects. But I wanted to let ya’ll know…[drumroll please]….I’m finally working on Anopensecret book!!!! It’s been a long time coming, and I have definitely talked myself out of it a number of a times. But it’s slowly coming to fruition, and I can’t wait for you all to read it!
In addition to scheduling photoshoots, doing research for my fall Practice Lab, taking in summer in the city and writing this book, I haven’t had much time to post. But of course, the conversation never stops, and I have been thinking about a variety of things.
For one, I realize that I’m not at all in a rush to get married. I’m sure when the time comes it’ll be very exciting, but I’m just not in a place emotionally for that. I have so many things I need to do on my own before I really get there, ya dig? So many personal ways I want to grow and develop before that chapter.
Uncertainty in people is a turn off. Shaky friendships, non-committal men, unconfirmed plans…..nope. I don’t want it. Some things in life just have to be more concrete.
I haven’t heard the term courting used in so long. For a refresher, it is defined as:
- To be involved with romantically, typically with the intention of marrying.
2. To pay special attention to (someone) in an attempt to win their support or favor.
I’ve been thinking about what courting looks like in 2018, and what does it look like when it’s done right.
In addition, spending more time sitting in parks, writing on my fire escape, napping, and having conversations that make me wonder. I hope you all are enjoying the summer, stay tuned for upcoming events, projects, and updates!
