“Maybe there’s something you’re afraid to say, or someone you’re afraid to love, or somewhere you’re afraid to go. It’s gonna hurt. It’s gonna hurt because it matters.”
― John Green, Will Grayson, Will Grayson
I started this blog on a winter evening in late January 2012. I had just come from a particularly wearisome evening of graduate classes, and I was sitting in the living room, thinking. I was reflecting on the series of bad dates I had just been on over the past few weeks. I had a bleak thought, that this was going to be my life in the city as a young, single 20-something. So as always, instead of bitching and moaning to an empty apartment, I began to write about my frustrations…. and so, the blog was born.
A little about myself, Mora Adeyi. I am a licensed social worker, and I currently work with the mentally ill in the New York City Metro area. I also blog about dating and relationships ( ahem, anopensecret), as well as private life and love coaching sessions. Please check out my life-coaching site thelifeexpert.wordpress.com for further inquiries.
What should you know about me? I’m just a small town girl living in the city, trying to figure out this love and dating shit. While saving the world in my spare time, of course. I am passionate about helping others connect in a deeper, more meaningful way, and learning more about myself in the process. Thanks in advance for entertaining my ramblings, I hope you enjoy my posts. Let’s ride this wave together.
